NOTICIAS
Welcome…
Inspired by the labyrinthine, medieval streets of Toledo, Spain, this site
has been redesigned for your everlasting pleasure—there’s a documentary,
a new short story, essays and photos, among other treasures—so have
fun exploring!
Queer and Catholic (by Taylor
and Francis), an anthology for which I’ve contributed an essay,
is now available though the Taylor and Francis website and a NYC reading has
been scheduled for Friday, September 5, 2008. I'll announce it officially
as we get closer. Fellow heretic Emanuel
Xavier will also be included in the volume, as well as papa and mama
heretics (and editors) Trebor Healey
and Amie Evans. We've been informed that it'll be marketed as an academic
reader...I'm already blushing with mortal sin.
The experimental "Freak Week" reading I hosted and read for at Nowhere (on Wednesday, June 25th) featured queer scribes Lee Houck, Sam J. Miller and Pietro Scorsone and was such a success that we’re doing one every last Wednesday of the month. The next “Nowhere Fast” reading takes place on Wednesday, July 30th, 8PM. (Interested readers please email me at: www.firekingpress.com - click here for more info).
Spittles the Clown surfaces again on July 20th to co-host Queer Fetish with DJ extraordinaire (and creator) DJ Chaotiqueer and performance dynamo Amber Martin. Looking forward to that!
Also look out for my new weekly (Tuesday) posts to the Village Voice's Naked City blog, www.nakedcity.com. My posts are listed under Gotham After Dark and will be focusing on the queer underculture of NYC, with an emphasis on performance, literature, sex culture and art.
